All nine members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod who sought re-election in last May's polls including the presiding officer, Vice-Mayor Jose SG. Villanueva, Jr., was re-elected for another three-year term. Two new members completes the City Council line-up. One of them is political greenhorn and Alfelor scion Emmanuel "Nonokoy" Jr., who surprised everyone by besting all challengers in the City council race while former vice-mayor (1992-1995) and two-time mayoral candidate Rudy Mirando came in at number nine.
